Episode #21 (August 22, 2011): World Young’uns’ Day

We’re here, and it’s the hottest day in August so far… But we recorded an episode anyway! Because it just happened, we discussed World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid. In case you’re unaware of it, it’s a day (week) for Catholic youth from around the world. Pope Benedict was also there. And lots of rain, from what we could see on TV.

Because we were all at the World Youth Day in Toronto in 2002, we also talked about some of our experiences from 9 years ago.

Show notes:

  • Universal Church Supplies is in Saskatoon.
  • WYD in Madrid brought a lot of economic return to the area – $230 million worth!
  • Jean Vanier, founder of L’Arche International
  • Nada es Imposible para Ti by Hermana Glenda
  • Critical Mass, a Canadian Catholic rock band
  • Salt + Light TV
  • Who should go to World Youth Day? Is it more suited for young adults or teens?
  • Papal Welcoming Ceremony Address of Pope John Paul II in Toronto, 2002.
Question of the Week: What kind of ice cream do you eat on a hot day?

Song of the Week: Dancing Queen, by ABBA. Though Andy likes the version by Sixpence None the Richer a lot too.

We want to hear from you! Therefore:
